  Jonas Altenderfer - Obituary " Jonas Altenderfer died of a complication of diseases, due to old age, at Krumsville. Deceased was a son of the late Jacob Altenderfer and his wife Sarah (nee Wisser) and was born July 31, 1826, and attained the age of 85 years, 5 months and 22 days. He was born and reared in Greenwich township, Berks county, on the home now owned by his brother John. Deceased was twice married. His first wife was Katie Dietrich, who died about 30 years ago. His second wife was Maria Greenawalt, who preceded him in death by three years. By the second union there were two children, a son Harvey, with whom deceased resided, surviving. For a number of years he was affected mentally, which weakened his system gradually until death. There survive besides the son, a brother John and these sisters: Mrs. Catharine Kunkel, Mrs. Sallie Neifert and Mrs. Mary Lichty, all of Kansas and Nebraska." They did not live in Nebraska but did live in Marion Co.,Iowa and Mary Lichty lived in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri. The other two sisters lived in Iowa the entire time.
