    • Obituary: 16 Sep 1913, Bedford Free Press; Bedford Free Press, Tuesday September 16, 1913 p. 5 Gideon Wieser Gideon Wieser died at his home at 10:30 Sunday evening, aged 68 years and 7 months. The funeral services were at the home Thursday morning at 10 o?clock, conducted by Dr. J. W. Neyman and assisted by Rev. Mart Gary Smith. Interment will be made in the Fairview cemetery. Mr. Wieser was born in Allentown, Pa., February 7, 1845. He was a member of Company I, Forty-seventh regiment of the Pennsylvania volunteers. He enlisted at Harrisburg, Pa., August 30, 1861, and was promoted from private to corporal September 18, 1864. He re-enrolled October 17, 1863, and served until the close of the war. April 11, 1871, he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Hirsch at Louisville, Ky. They came to Bedford April 1, 1875. To this union were born 11 children, all of whom with the wife survive. They are, Charles, who lives at home; Mrs. Lottie Risser of Maryville, Mo.; Mrs. Mayme Bishop and Mrs. Effie Klopp of Bedford; Victor of Hopkins, Mo.; Mrs. Grace Buchanan and Mrs. Pearl Henry of Kincaid, Kan.; William of Lincoln, Neb.; Mrs. Lillie Remington of San Diego, Cal.; Mrs. Kate McBurney of Wheeling, W. Va.; Albert of South Tacoma, Wash. Mr. Wieser was a member of the school board for several years. He was a member of the I. O. O. F., Modern Woodmen of America and the Grand Army of the Republic. The G. A. R. will have charge of the services at the home and the I. O. O. F. at the cemetery.
