    Allen B. Wisser, a longtime Westport resident, died Saturday, Aug. 2, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 80.

    Mr. Wisser was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of the late Meir and Bess Wisser, and was a longtime member of Temple Israel of Westport.

    Mr. Wisser attended The Juilliard School in New York, and was a member of the Rogers and Hammerstein cast of ?Showboat.? He graduated from New York Uni­versity in 1951, and Brooklyn School of Law in 1956.

    Mr. Wisser served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954 as a legal adviser to Gen. Bean, head of the U.S. Army Finance Division at Fort Harrison in Indianapolis.

    Mr. Wisser worked in the legal field in Long Island for a short time, and moved to Connecticut in 1960.

    He began his career in real estate development, and was affiliated with Carol Construction, Associated Builders, Pace Builders, and then formed his own real estate development company, Allen Builders. These companies developed a substantial portion of the Westport community.

    Mr. Wisser was a Brooklyn City Handball champion, an active Little League coach in Westport, an avid tennis and racquetball player, and an active member of the YMCA.

    Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ellen Borenstein Wisser; his children, R. Ilise Gold and her partner, Fritz Heilbron, of Weston, Jamie Wisser and his wife, Natalie, of Plainsboro, N.J., Kerry M. Wisser and his wife, Debbie, of Simsbury; his sister, Gladys Floch and her husband, Marty, of Westport; and his grandchildren, Alanna Gold and Davin Gold, and Evan, Caitlyn, Ryan, Tyler and Leah Wisser.

    Funeral services were Tuesday Aug. 5, at Temple Israel. Interment followed at Temple Israel Cemetery in Norwalk.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Live, Love and Laugh, a Melanoma research funding foundation, c/o Jonathan Penn, 45 Sutton Place South, New York, N.Y., 10022.

    Shiva will be observed at the home of Gladys and Marty Floch in Westport.
