Henry Davidheiser served as a Private in the 4th Pennsylvania Regiment commanded by Colonel Butler during the Revolutionary War. He submitted two declarations, one on 2 Dec 1820 when aged 60 and another on 8 Dec 1828 when aged 69 as a resident of Alsace Township in Berks County. He stated he enlisted in May 1778 in Berks County in a company commanded by Captain Robert Connely in the Fourth Pennsylvania Regiment commanded by Colonel Butler and that at the expiration of his service he was honorably discharged at Carlisle. His application was approved. He died 19 Aug 1838 leaving a will.

His death was reported in The Reading Adler of 28 Aug 1838: Heinrich Davidsheiser, a soldier of the RW, died on 19 Aug 1838, aged 79, in Greenwich Twp., Berks County.

The will of Henry Devitshiser of Greenwich Township, Berks County, was written 11 Dec 1837 and proved 10 Sept 1838. Therein was named only his widow, Elizabeth, who was also appointed the executor. (Berks County Wills, vol. 8, p. 72)

On 9 Oct 1850, now residing with her son Solomon in South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, Elizabeth Davidheiser, now blind, appeared before the Lehigh County Court in the company of her son Solomon to clear up a matter regarding her widow?s pension.

In 1850, Elizabeth Davidheiser lived with her son Solomon and his family in South Whitehall Township. The family was recorded under the name HISER and consisted of Solomon 40, his wife Lydia 41, 4 children and his mother Elizabeth, 79.

The German will of Elizabeth Davidheiser of Greenwich Township, Berks County was written 15 May 1846 and named her sons Heinrich, John, Jacob, Solomon, and Samuel and daughters Anna, wife of Jacob Wisser and Elizabeth. Peter Klein was appointed executor. On 17 Sept 1851 an inventory was submitted that included a bond from Jacob Wisser dated 12 April 1845 for $275.
