• Obituary: 4 Jan 1943, The Reading Eagle, Reading, PA, page 14; Allentown, Jan. 4 --- Howard C. Drey, 57, a native of Bowers, Berks County, died in his home, 2423 Greenleaf St., this city. He was a son of George L. and the late Caroline (Berkey) Drey, and was a coremaker by trade. Surviving are his widow, Beulah (Wisser); father, who is 90 years old and lives in Breinigsville; these children: Lillian, wife of Victor Nagle, this city; Helen, wife of Obadiah Brinker, of Wescoeville; Anna, Grace and Howard, at home; these sisters and brothers: Walter, of Mertztown; George, of Swedesboro, N.J.; Lizzie, wife of Maurice Mangold, of Stony Run; Edna, wife of Harvey Spohn, of Breinigsville; Jennie, wife of Fred Spade, of Maxatawny; two stepbrothers and a stepsister, Mrs. Katie H. Delong, of Topton; Frank Mengel, of Reading, and William Drey, of Grand Rapids, Mich. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Delong Funeral home, 107 South Home St., Topton, the Rev. Robert A. Laubach, of Catasauqua, officiating.
