He was the husband of Thelma E. (Snyder) Wisser who died February 18, 2006. They were married for 55 years. Born in Guth Station, he was the son of the late Morris E. and Violet M. (Keck) Wisser. He was a graduate of South Whitehall High School and Allentown Business School. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He began his career alongside his father in the family coal and fuel business, Morris E. Wisser Coal and Fuel Oil, in his early teen years. He had a career that spanned more than 70 years. He delivered many tons of coal, before using high lift coal trucks. When the business became a corporation in 1991, Morris retired but still remained active in the day-to-day operations when called upon by his sons. He was an avid horseman, owning first a riding horse and later standard bred race horses for more than 65 years. He was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown. He was a past consistory member and had served as a choir member for many years. He was a volunteer for the peace garden and had served on the committees of many improvement projects on the church property. A talented athlete he played on the church basketball and softball teams. He played on the churchs first softball team and participated for six decades, pitching his last inning in 2000. He played fastpitch softball for many years with Shankweilers, Farm Bureau and other local teams. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Survivors: Sons, Richard M. Wisser and his wife, Linda A., of Orefield, David A. Wisser of Allentown; grandchildren, Matthew Wisser, Meghan Wisser; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie; sister-in-law, Adele Snyder of Orefield; nieces, nephews; good friend, Dottie Kemmerling of New Tripoli. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Morris Stephens and Bruce Snyder and sister-in-law, Shirley Stephens. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday in Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, Allentown. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Friday in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton streets, Allentown and 9-10 a.m. Saturday in the church. Deciding to discontinue school work he went into the coal business at Walberts and operated successfully for some time. During the past several years he has done nothing but farming. He was a member of the Allen Lodge, I. O. O. F., Allentown. Surviving are his wife, Maria S. (Hunsicker) Wisser; four children, Sadie and Elmer, at home, Morris of Guth?s Station, and Herbert, Catasauqua; three sisters, Mrs. Milton Buchman, Kratzer, Mrs. Havey Stauffer, Troxell?s Crossing, and Mrs. E.     Teacher in South Whitehall township, was born in that district Dec 25, 1876. He received his education in the public schools and the Millersville S. N. S. He began teaching in 1897; the greater part of his teaching was done in South Witehall.
    In 1907 he succeeded his father in the coal business at Walberts, where he has since resided. He ownes the farm and house which was formerly owened by his father. He is a member of the Jordan Lutheran congregation which he served as deacon.

Wisser, passed away Wednesday afternoon at her home in Walberts after an illness of nine weeks. She was aged 56 years, 8 months and 7 days. Mrs. Wisser was born in South Whitehall township, April 18, 1879, a daughter of Lewis D. and Salanda E. (Troxell) Hunsicker. She was a lifelong resident of the township and held membership throughout her life in Jordan Reformed Church. She was confirmed there November 17, 1894, by the late Rev. E. J. Fogel and married by Rev. Fogel, May 24, 1902. Her activity in the church led her into many channels, particularly in behalf of the Willings Workers and the Home Department of the Sunday school. Surviving her are a daughter, Sadie, at home; three sons, Herbert, Catasauqua; Morris, Guth Station; and Elmer at home; seven grandchildren and two sisters, and three brothers; Jennie,w ife of Harry Schantzenbach; Ella, wife of Harry Rauch; Edwin J., John D. and Albert L. Hunsicker all of this city. Her husband passed away last May 7. The funeral will be held from her late home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 followed by services and burial at Jordan Reformed Church, with Rev. John L. Guth officiating.
