Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kutztown. He was a member of Lehigh Lodge #326, F&AM Macungie, Reading Consistory and the Reading Rajah Shrine. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at Mack Trucks for 37 years retiring in 1978. Survivors: Surviving daughters, Loretta G. wife of Chet Kline of Allentown and Ruth A. wife of Donald Potak of Walnutport; brothers, Myron of Allentown, and Bob of Scottsdale, AZ; sisters, Evelyn Schlenker of Kempton and Janet Faix of Andreas PA; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons; companion, Gloria Bittner of Orefield. He was predeceased by brothers, Norman Hassler, Bruce Hassler and Dale Wiser and a sister, Kathryn Ruppert. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Mt.     Met Iva Cornell while working as a farmhand on the Letlighter Farm. After Iva (Cornell) died he married sister-in -law Elsie (Kocher) Cornell.
