Daniel Wisser
1824-1894

(Wisser Tree 5)

So far I have not found a connection to my tree (Wisser Tree 1)

Daniel Wisser was born 19 Jul 1824; he died 28 Aug 1894. He appears to be the son of Samuel Wisser and Elizabeth (see census information below).

His wife Judith (Lichty) Wisser was born 10 Sep 1825; she died 27 Apr 1895.

They had at least 8 children.

1. Oliver T. 1847-1871 buried near parents;

2. Wilson;

3. Mary A.;

4. Sarah E.;

5. Morris Sep 1856-1929--he was deaf;

6. Caroline Margaret 19 Dec 1858-6 Mar 1860 buried near parents;

7. Diana 3 Feb 1861-3 Aug 1903 buried at Schoenersville Cem with husband Adam H. Bittner; (see image of grave site below)

Hi Gary,

I think we exchanged e-mail a long time ago about the Lichty family.  I have been confused for a long time about Judith Lichty that married a Daniel Wisser.  I have a copy of her obituary and all along I thought she was a second wife but just learned after much research, that she was married to a different Wisser than the one born in 1803.  Still not certain if that the father of Judith's husband but he was born about 1823.  According to the 1860, 1870, and 1880 censuses it appears they had seven children.  The reason I had such a hard time finding them was the name was spelled Wiesser on 1860 and 1870 censuses and Wiser on the 1880.  Their children were:  Oliver, Wilson, Mary A., Sarah E., Morris who was deaf, Diana, and Daniel A.  Now I'm working on finding out which daughter was married to the Adam Bittner mentioned in the obituary.

 Daniel and his wife Judith are buried at New Bethel (Zion) Cem, Grimsville, Greenwich, Berks Co. along with their son Morris.

(I can't remember who provided this photo. If anyone knows, please let me know so I can credit it. This is a very unusual marker.)
